Field Notes is a series of photographs that features human shadows merged with cameras and recording devices in U.S. National Parks, sourced from Google Maps. Google's AI automatically erased the physical bodies, leaving only distorted shadows fused with technology, inadvertently revealing how certain AI systems see us: as content creators to be mined. The cyborg-like simplicity of these shadows contrasts with the complex motivations behind our relentless documentation—seeking connection, preserving memory, affirming existence, and confronting mortality.
